Project Details
This work formed part of an overall refurbishment of a 6-storey car park to form a private car park. The work involved repairs and resurfacing of the exposed decks of the car park, incorporating a waterproof membrane.
Product Selection
Considering that the work was to be carried out in January and February, the Stirling Lloyd Decseal system was the best choice for the work. The fast curing properties of the product are more suitable to lower temperatures and the vagaries of the English weather! The system comprises surface preparation, repairs, application of the waterproof membrane and final decorative and skid resistant coating.
Interesting Points
The existing asphalt surface, once removed, exposed a number of initial construction problems. These were assessed and agreed with the client’s structural engineer and remedial works were carried out to solve the problem. The weather conditions were very temperamental throughout creating some difficult working conditions that the team overcame.
