The Monument, London
Client:
Corporation of London / CWO Limited
Project Details:
The application of a 25 year warranted liquid roof membrane to the upper plinth level of Sir Christopher Wren’s 1676, Grade 1 historic monument, to the Great Fire of London, which was extensively refurbished by CWO Ltd over an 18 month period.
Product Selection:
After careful consideration and based on past experience, BCL and Belzona 3131 (WG Membrane) were selected by conservation architects, Julian Harrap Associates. The colour selection was extremely important and the product colour was hand blended to suit these requirements.
Interesting points:
Whilst there was only an overall small area to be waterproofed, the care and expertise demanded a very high level of application skill, to achieve the requirements. You can see more about the monument on their website here.
